Alas one of the poorer episodes. Roy Clarke really must have had writer's block as he could not even recycle a previous plot line from Summer Wine or one of his other shows.
Howard finds one of Marina's earrings in his person and wishes to get it out of the house before Pearl sees it. I have no idea why this cannot wait until he next sees Marina until then he could just keep it in his pocket unless Pearl strip searches which includes a full cavity search.
Our trio try to contact Howard but Pearl opens the door and never lets Howard see them because she thinks he is up to no good. Of course Howard is up to no good and Pearl knows this. In fact does Pearl ever do any work around the house because it is always Howard who has a pinny on doing odd jobs.
They even get Smiler who is moping about to contact Howard and he is no use.
The only good bit of the episode is the poor fella in the cafe who gets suckered into listening to Foggy's wartime stories. He does not say much but made the most of a small part.
