Very funny.
Sleepin_Dragon15 September 2021
Clegg is being utterly ruled by his domineering cousin Aubrey, but Truly has a plan. Nora decides to try and turn Alvin off.

I did find this very funny, lots of scathing humour, and a few glimpses of the grotesque.

I did laugh out loud at the sight of Smiler and Tom dressed up as shop dummies, you can imagine they had a riot making it, they look like something out of The Hammer House of Horror. Nora in a blond wig also made my day.

Plenty of scathing remarks here, which are nice for a change, nicely delivered by Auntie and Marina.

The funniest for a while, 8/10.

How to Remove a Cousin
Prismark1014 April 2021
Clegg is very much controlled by his cousin Aubrey who is staying with him.

Aubrey even tells Pearl that she should not be bringing full fat milk for him.

Clegg is not even allowed to go out with the lads. Not the kind of activity that Aubrey approves of.

Truly realises that Aubrey needs to go. Challenging Aubrey to race up hills is not the way to go.

However a drinking contest at the pub leaves Aubrey flat out.

Howard had little sympathy for Clegg's predicament. Howard hopes Clegg now realises what it is to be a prisoner in your own home.

Then again Howard gets a shock when a lady with a blond wig turns out to be Nora Batty instead of Marina.

She bought a cheap wig from Auntie Wainwright to put the frighteners on Alvin. Just the kind that one of the two dummies in the shop was displaying.

You have to admire just how Roy Clarke has managed to give everyone in the cast something to do. Even if Tom and Smiler stand like dummies.

Col Farrell seemed to have enjoyed himself as Aubrey. He held his own with Truly.

A new low for Howard
keysam-026109 May 2022
I dislike the character of Howard very much indeed, but this episode represents a new low. His reaction to Clegg's imprisonment by revolting cousin Aubrey is very mean.

Fortunately the rest of the crew - including Pearl - have a different reaction and Aubrey is eventually dislodged.
