Another classic from 1982 and who is that in the water, it is Sid in a wet-suit diving in a pond. Last time I saw a sight like that it was John Prescott in a scuba outfit diving in the Humber.
Sid is none too pleased that the trio caught him partaking in one of his hobbies, just like the previous series when him and Wally were playing Cowboys and Indians and rather embarrassed they were caught.
Of course before long it is Compo who ends up in the oversized wet suit leading to several amusing set pieces. One of them we go to a corner shop where we eavesdrop in to a conversation between two ladies and Compo walks in wearing his cumbersome wet suit and ends up destroying the place as the shelves fall like dominoes when he tries to reach for the top shelf for what looks like an adult magazine.
The highlight is more slapstick as he tries to water ski in oversized skis made by Wally Batty with built in wellies. With a riff from Jaws it all ends up rather disastrously but even after all these years I ended up laughing.
