- Pamela Barnes Ewing: You've already started working on it, haven't you? You didn't waste any time.
- Bobby Ewing: Do you think J.R.'s going to?
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Bobby, forgive me, but it was really unfair of Jock to put you in this contest.
- Bobby Ewing: Oh, Pam, no, it's not like that at all. He didn't have a choice.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Yes, he did. He could've given each of you half of the company. It would've been better for everybody.
- Bobby Ewing: [sighs] You can't split a company like Ewing Oil.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: He could've left it the way it was. The whole family was able to vote.
- Bobby Ewing: [shakes his head] No, that was just an interim agreement. Ewing Oil needs long-range leadership.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: You know I'm behind you in this. It's just I'm afraid it could hurt us.
- Bobby Ewing: Pam, Daddy did the only thing he could possibly do. How could he leave Ewing Oil to one son and not the other? And yet he had to be sure that whoever was in charge was the toughest man for the job. Actually I'm kind of pleased about the way it turned out. Daddy had confidence in me. He put me up against J.R. J.R.'s been in that position of leadership for a long time.
- [shakes his head]
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Well, you'd better be sure it's worth it, 'cause he's gonna fight you with everything he has.
- Bobby Ewing: Well, I'm gonna fight him just as hard. Pam, J.R. doesn't want that company just for himself. He wants it for John Ross! And you and I have a son too. And I'm not gonna sit back and watch J.R. steal something that rightfully belongs to Christopher!
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: He just needed time to think. To adjust to the terms of the will.
- Lucy Ewing Cooper: [unconvinced] Sure.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Listen, Gary's not the only one affected by this. That will's gonna be a disaster for all Jock's sons.
- Lucy Ewing Cooper: Yes, well, but all Jock's sons are not my father. Pam, I've been through a lot lately.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: I know that.
- [nods]
- Lucy Ewing Cooper: I was kidnapped. It didn't even matter to him.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Yes, it did.
- Lucy Ewing Cooper: No, it didn't. He hardly even asked me how I was.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: He didn't know how serious it was. When Bobby called him, everything was all over. You were safe. But he wanted to get on a plane and come here.
- Lucy Ewing Cooper: [nods] Yeah, I'll bet he did.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: He did. But we talked him out of it. We played down the whole awful thing. For your sake as well as for his.
- Lucy Ewing Cooper: No matter what you say, I know what my father is. It's my own stupidity that makes me think he'll ever change.
- Afton Cooper: [to Cliff] You're gonna have to bury your hatred and your hostility. Don't you see how it's poisoning you?
- [he glares at her]
- Rebecca Barnes Wentworth: [to J.R] I haven't forgotten what you did to my son. And since the only way to your heart is through your company, I intend to do everything in my power to make that company bleed.
- Rebecca Barnes Wentworth: I just acquired a company you might be interested in.
- Cliff Barnes: Really? You need somebody to run it into the ground?
- Afton Cooper: Cliff!
- Cliff Barnes: That's my specialty.
- Rebecca Barnes Wentworth: I bought the Wade-Luce Oil Company.
- Cliff Barnes: Oh, I see. And the position of embezzler is open?
- [last lines]
- Det. Harry McSween: Boy, I'll tell ya, she made a U-turn yesterday and damn near got herself obliterated!
- J.R. Ewing: Yeah, it seems like he's willing to stick his neck out for her a little bit, isn't he?
- Det. Harry McSween: Well, you take one look at that woman, J.R., and you'll understand Driscoll real well. She's 21 years younger and built.
- J.R. Ewing: So Driscoll is crazy about a lady who's got a driving problem, huh?
- Det. Harry McSween: The way she jerks that car around, she's lucky she hasn't killed someone.
- J.R. Ewing: Well, give her time. Her luck can't last forever.
- J.R. Ewing: I can take Bobby with one hand behind me. But I get the distinct feeling there's an army mobilizing against me.
- Rebecca Barnes Wentworth: Now, I've bought an oil company and I don't know the business. I'd like you to run it. And I wouldn't mind a bit if you used it as a bludgeon against J.R.
- Cliff Barnes: No. Every time I've gone up against that man I'm the one who winds up holding the bag.
