This episode was not intended as a two-part episode, due to Adult Swim planning on shutting the show down due to low ratings. Instead, there was an alternate ending that was gonna be used for the episode at the end, with the Sealab cast realizing that their show was cancelled. But that ending was too much for the channel. So instead, they decided to end the series with an in-episode bumper claiming this very line:
"Actually, we won't be coming back.
This was the last Sealab.
Ever.
Thanks for four great seasons.
Love,
70-30 and the Sealab cast.
:)"
