Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Lark Voorhies were a real couple off-set during the filming of this episode.
Zack Morris and Lisa Turtle are romantically involved at great personal expense. This romance is never mentioned again until the Saved by the Bell: The New Class (1993) episode Fire at the Max: Part 2 (1996).
Along with Slater and Jessie, Kelly discourages Screech from pursuing Lisa, while Zack encourages him to do so. This is a reversal of Zack and Kelly's stances in Screech's Woman (1989) (Season 1). Being that the latter episode took place during the characters' freshman year and this episode takes place during their senior year, perhaps over time, Kelly saw that a relationship between Screech and Lisa wasn't going to happen.
Another example of an episode airing within a three-week span where Zack has a falling out with a friend over a girl. Zack and Slater come to blows in The Fight (1992), which aired two weeks earlier. However, this time, it's Zack and Screech. Unlike in "The Fight," Zack goes through great lengths not to fight Screech. Also, unlike in "The Fight," it's over someone they (and the viewing audience) know very well - Lisa, who Screech had a crush on throughout the series.
Lisa Turtle auditions for the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City. This is a real school.
