- The movie was shot entirely in Ottawa, Canada so for the jungle scenes that appear at the beginning and end of the movie, palm trees were brought in to make the location look tropical.

- Trevor Matthews and Jon Knautz thought of the idea for 'Jack' while making up horror stories at Trevor's cottage in the 1000 Islands near Kingston, Ontario.
- Robert Englund agreed to take the part of Professor Crowley after watching one of Brookstreet Pictures' short films, Still Life.
- The "Prof Monster" that appears at the end of the film took between 6 and 8 people to operate at one time.
- No CGI was used in this film for any of the effects.
