- The Black Cat crashes a New Year's Eve party at the Daily Bugle. Spider-Man sees her breaking into the building (as he is late for the party as Peter Parker) and captures her. He returns the stolen valuables to Jameson and takes the Black Cat into custody, where she promptly escapes.
The next day, Black Cat returns to the Bugle and convinces Jameson to run a challenge to Spider-Man. Try to prevent her from stealing the Maltese Mouse, which will appear on the Johnny Griffon show the day it arrives.
Spider-Man learns of the challenge and makes his way to the docks. Despite several setbacks, Spider-Man keeps the Mouse out of her hands.
