Overworked, underappreciated.

Warning: Spoilers
When Susan (Stockard Channing) is asked to work over the weekend, she declined, saying that she has a cold. But Brad (Ron Silver) finds that she is out to dinner with her new next-door neighbor (Maureen Arthur) and some male companions, and confronts her over lying to him. It's up to her to set the groundwork for their future working relationship oh, already have been proven her worth yet not feeling appreciated in spite of being exhausted.

It's obvious what this episode is saying, something that is still complained about in the work environment today, demands of the job interfering with people social lives and the issues of a decent work / life balance. Obviously this should be shown to bosses around the world who demand too much of their employees especially when they already have plans or have already worked their share of overtime during the week. It's not as funny as it could have been but still potent. Maureen Arthur, best known as a deceased secretary from "How To Succeed in Business", is amusing as the neighbor and the fact that she's actually a suit salesman rather than a call girl is a good lesson in assumption.
