Marathoning the movies and animations of "Treasure Island", a work by Robert Louis Stevenson, this one despite being simple, simple graphic, dull, and with very unattractive outlines, managed to be more faithful to the work than most of those who I attended...

A fun spirited version

Generally I do like Burbank Films Australia's animations. I may not have cared for Prisoner of Zenda, The Three Musketeers and Through the Looking Glass, but I did love the likes of Wind in the Willows and Peter Pan. And I consider Treasure Island another one of their better efforts. The animation may have some moments where it lacks finesse, but overall it is fluid and colourful, and the story, pretty faithful also to Stevenson's book also, is suitably thrilling and has a sense of adventure if a little rushed in parts. The music is great with the rousing themes fitting much with the crisp nature of the story, the dialogue is witty and the voice acting is suitably dynamic especially Long John Silver. All in all, a fun version of a classic. 8/10 Bethany Cox
