An excellent story played out superbly by the cast; multiple murders solved by Chief Johnson while juggling domestic duties, or dodging domestic entanglements. The episode moves swiftly through available evidence from the M.E., a jury-consultant, a mob-attorney, and through Brenda's manipulative interviews, one from a hospital bed of one murderer and the other in the all-too-familiar interview room.

Good to see Joe Spano in a role, an excellent actor, always meeting expectations.

Commander Taylor continues his quest to be obnoxious while Lieutenant Flynn is spotlighted as helpful to the case at hand, wanting justice to prevail and doubting the original findings from the coroner. Thumbs up also to our Dr. Crippen for taking the time to prove the cause of death to juror number nine, the original victim.

Frances Sternhagen is a wonderful actress and I am sure a nice person, but the role she has in The Closer is annoying; it is unneeded to the series in this reviewer's opinion. The writer and producer decided the part was a nice add-on establishing Brenda's character outside of her policework, therefore it was inserted; Barry Corbin's role as the father is equally hard to tolerate, despite he being an accomplished actor in his own right. A mere mention of the parents would have sufficed and more focus on Fritz and Brenda, of course, Kitty and Joel play important roles and they do not speak; no forced Southern drawl. Believe it or not people from Atlanta do not talk like those two.
