Mario Batali will no longer be appearing on The Chew.
In a statement to Et on Thursday, an ABC spokesperson revealed that Batali has been fired after being accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women.
"Upon completing its review into the allegations made against Mario Batali, ABC has terminated its relationship with him and he will no longer appear on The Chew," the statement reads. "While we remain unaware of any type of inappropriate behavior involving him and anyone affiliated with our show, ABC takes matters like this very seriously as we are committed to a safe work environment and his past behavior violates our standards of conduct."
Batali, who has co-hosted The Chew since 2011, stepped away from the show on Monday, after four women accused him of touching them inappropriately over a period that spans at least two decades. The 57-year-old chef's Chew co-hosts addressed his departure on the show on Tuesday, while the Food Network...

Add celebrity chef Mario Batali to the list of men who have been hit with allegations of sexual misconduct. ABC has announced Batali will step away from his hosting duties on The Chew. Although the network was careful to note it is unaware of any allegations regarding his seven seasons on the daytime food and entertainment show, it plans to conduct a review. For now, Batali's exit is for an "unspecified" amount of time. The program was already down one cast member, as another original co-host, Daphne Oz, left after the sixth season. Michael Symon, Carla Hall, and Clinton Kelly also host The Chew. Similarly, Food Network has put its plans for revival of Batali's Molto Mario TV show on hold. Just last month, the cable network had announced it was bringing back the cooking series,...

Celebrity chef Mario Batali is taking time off from his businesses, as well as co-hosting The Chew, amid multiple sexual harassment allegations against him.
Four women have accused 57-year-old Batali of touching them inappropriatedly over a period that spans at least two decades, Eater New York reports. One woman alleges Batali groped her breasts at an after-party when she was in her 20s, and one woman alleges that he repeatably grabbed her from behind and held her tightly against his body. Three of the women allegedly worked for Batali at some point.
Batali apologized in a statement to Eater, and didn't deny the allegations.
“I apologize to the people I have mistreated and hurt," the statement reads. "Although the identities of most of the individuals mentioned in these stories have not been revealed to me, much of the behavior described does, in fact, match up with ways I have acted. That behavior was wrong...

Munchies subscribers, take note: Mario Batali is coming. The food channel run by digital media company Vice will be the home of Moltissimo, an upcoming web series that will star Batali as he hosts celebrity guests for a delicious home-cooked meal.
Each of Moltissimo’s seven 20-minute episodes will feature a pair of well-known diners and a collection of sumptuous recipes prepared in Vice’s kitchen. Batali, long known as one of America’s most talented purveyors of Italian cuisine, will source some of his ingredients from a garden located on the roof of Vice’s Brooklyn office. As seen in a trailer on the Munchies YouTube channel, those ingredients will turn into some dishes that can only be described as food porn. The guests, who will range from Rosie Perez to Saturday Night Live’s Kyle Mooney and Beck Bennett, will undoubtedly walk away full and happy.

Some thirty years ago, I broke my left ankle in three places and was laid up for a while as it healed. It was around this time of year and it was a real harsh winter; I didn’t venture outside much because of the ice; crutches and a cast don’t lend themselves to walking on ice. I watched TV a lot, especially daytime TV. I was not then and am not now a fan of soap operas so I would find game shows and reruns to while away the hours. I became obsessive about some of them, especially reruns of Happy Days. I never said it was good TV, just compulsive.
These days, as I recover from my triple by-pass, I’m also into watching some daytime TV and my current obsessive show is ABC’s The Chew, which airs five days a week. The show is a...

New Yorkers know that they can spot celebrity chef Mario Batali by his brightly colored footwear. However, the owner of Big Apple culinary hotspots like Babbo and “Molto Mario” star recently faced his own doomsday scenario when it came to his signature orange crocs. The company’s decision to discontinue shoes in that color left him with no choice but to stock up. “I just ordered 200 more because they’re about to take orange out of the field,” Batali told Details magazine. “They made a special run for me before they retired the color.” Also read: TheWrap’s Book Picks for the 2013 Holiday Season:.

Last night, Mario Batali appeared on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to promote two projects of his -- a new cookbook, Molto Mario, and the universally-beloved food talk show The Chew. The appearance had all the makings of a bromantic dinner. The increasingly food-mad Fallon seemed thrilled to have Batali on his show. He checked in on the chef's progress at the stove several times throughout the show:
Once the feast is ready, Batali serves it family-style to Fallon, Late Night regular Steve Higgins and another of the night's guests, Tracy Morgan, of 30 Rock. At first, everything seems to be going well; the food looks delicious, and Batali gets good reactions when he explains his belief in the importance of family dinners. There are a couple minor snags when Morgan makes strange, inaudible remarks and when the audience laughs at Batali's suggestion that such a copious meal should be a regular event.
