Very well written episode.

CID are on the lookout for someone who's been stealing CD players from a warehouse, suspects include an ex con, and a man who concealed a Police record. Jim Carver is told not to gain any more complaints.

Poor Jim, since I've been rewatching this show, he seems to have gotten more and more miserable. I always thought the best old misery face was Tracy in Birds of a Feather, nothing compared to Carver's.

Alasdair puts his foot well and truly in it here, it's always great to see the dour Scot drop a clanger.

It's a fairly small part for the fabulously talented Treva Etienne, the man would rightly have a sensational career in later years.

Good to see the return of Quigley, he was a menace in his last appearance, and is just as dodgy here, a great incidental character.

8/10.
