Daria is rather cruel this episode as repeatedly she plants ideas in Quinn's mind. First, she implies that there is something wrong with Quinn as she hasn't got a single steady boyfriend like her. Second, once Quinn buys into this, Daria begins making up all kinds of rules--like they should be looking into buying his and hers funeral plots! Seeing Daria take advantage of Quinn's gullibility is a hoot.
A subplot involving Jake and his obsession with catching a squirrel goes from a minor story to taking over the entire show. Up until Helen having the two steady boyfriends over for a meal, it's just a small little side story. Oddly, however, Jake bonds very quickly with the boys and they all end up having a terrific time catching the squirrel and going on a cross-country road trip--leaving the ladies at home to lament their wayward men. This is a hilarious ending and makes you think that the shallow guys actually are a lot happier and well-adjusted! Cute and very well written--and FUN.
