• Morph : [Morph is lying on a motel room bed]  No! He's my friend! They were all my friends. I don't want to hurt them.

  [Morph clutches his head and screams] 

  Morph : But why did they abandon me? Why did they leave me to die?

  [flashback to "Night of the Sentinels"] 

  Morph : Didn't I tell you? Clear sailing all the way.

  [a Sentinel comes out] 

  Wolverine : [unsheathes his claws]  Hey, Tin Woodsman! I'm sending you back to Oz in pieces.

  [Another Sentinel comes out, about to blast Wolverine] 

  Morph : Wolverine! Pull back!

  [Morph pushes Wolverine out of the way and takes the Sentinels' blasts] 

  Morph : Why did they abandon me? Why did they leave me to die?

  [the X-Men retreat, leaving Morph and Beast behind. Mr. Sinister walks up to the fallen Morph] 

  Mr. Sinister : You'll destroy them all.

  Morph : [back to the motel: Morph has unkempt black hair, jaundiced skin, and dark circles under his eyes]  I'll destroy them all. All the X-Men!

  [shapeshifts into each X-Man he names] 

  Morph : Cyclops. Storm. Wolverine!

  [falls back on the bed, groaning, then screams] 

  Morph : What's making me do this?

  [groans] 

  Morph : Why?
