EXCITING DOUBLE CHAPTER
asalerno1014 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Right from the start, it is noticeable that for this double episode there was a larger budget than for the previous ones. They are two stories intertwined with each other. It all begins with a Nazi commando that unsuccessfully tries to seize a new prototype plane from the American Army, then we see Queen Hippolyta who sends Drusilla to Washinton in search of her sister Diana so that she can return home. Drusilla is a teenager who marvels at the outside world. Diana asks her younger sister to stay in Washington so that she understands the importance of her stay in the United States and passes it on to her mother. The problem arises when a Nazi Commando mistakes Drusilla for her sister, Wonder Woman, and kidnaps her to confess the secrets of her protective bracelets. Here we see for the first time the intervention of Wonder Girl played by Debra Winger, we also have the debut of Carolyn Jones as a friendlier Queen Hipolyta than the one in the pilot episode, and an excellent job by John Saxon as the tough Captain Radl.

finally a real story

An new prototype of airplane is stolen but has to be destroyed before it get in the Nazis their hands. So it explodes in open air, pilot rescued. So far no problem but who is behind it all, a job for wonder woman.

But was I surprised to see John Saxon here as the bad guy Captain Radl. But there's more going on. We go back to Paradise Island were wonder woman is coming from. Out of the blue she got a sister called Drusilla. Remember the pilot, she was the only child of the queen. Nevertheless, Drusilla is called to go to the US to get wonder woman back, but not without any problems. It's a new world for her and Diana is stupid enough to show her sister how she changes in the superwoman. Of course Drusilla wants the same and practise to become wonder girl but the Germans want to capture wonder woman, sadly for Drusilla it's her they hold prison. Come and see in part 2 what is happening to both wonder chicks.

The Feminum Mystique
Joxerlives31 December 2011
Warning: Spoilers
The Feminum Mystique pt1 Here's Drusilla! Weird as in the pilot the Amazon Queen stated Diana was her only daughter. Of course she immediately get's chloroformed, the family resemblance is startling. Like her better in her cute bobby-soxer disguise than as Wonder-Girl. Also noted character actor John Saxon of 'Enter the Dragon' and 'Nightmare on Elm Street' fame. The prototype jet is a real WW2 aircraft, the Gloster Meteor but British rather than American. Of course in reality the German's were far in advance of the Allies in terms of jet fighters, they'd have no need to steal anything (their Me 262 was not only superior to it's British and American equivalents but would remain so for years after the war). We see WW transform back to Diana, the only time I can think we see that. I'm not the greatest Drusilla fan although I like her relationship with Diana, makes the superheroine more human, like Buffy and Dawn 5/10

Wonder Girl loses her powers!
Wes542 July 2019
She's supposed to be Diana's little sister; fast, strong, and agile. Yet she porks out on ice cream, and acts like a 4 year-old.

So sad...
IdaSlapter16 October 2021
I know the show was supposed to be campy. Batman was campy, but it also was hilarious, because the actors delivered their lines with tongue firmly planted in their cheeks. Wonder Woman had none of that.

This is just a mess. A step down for everyone involved (except perhaps Linda Carter -- who can barely spin around slowly without losing her balance, and Debra Winger (pre-tantrums) who looks like she's about four feet tall in this). Lyle Waggoner was just, well Lyle Waggoner, with his own inexplicable appeal to...I have no idea.

But poor John Saxon and especially Carolyn Jones -- both of whom had been on the cusp of major stardom just 15 years earlier -- were now reduced to accepting parts in this cheap, cheap production.

Sad.
