The appearance of Bill Waddell from Scotland Yard's Black Museum is an odd segment for the pre-watershed programme, in that it features some graphic descriptions of violence and murder that Terry Wogan then tries to keep light, despite the darkness of the content. One particularly jarring piece occurs when Waddell shows a home made flail, made by an eight-year-old, which he used to attack four other children, nearly causing one victim the loss of an eye.
Bill: "It transpires that the child was permitted to watch a pornographic, sadomasochistic video. And in consequence of that, he made that particular item."
Terry: "A golf ball with two inch nails driven into it."
Bill: "The tragedy of that - the ongoing tragedy - is that when the parents were asked did they think it was the right thing for a child of such tender years to see, police were told 'mind your own business, we are widening the child's attitude to life' (audience gasp). Three years later that child is in a remedial school for disrupters. There's the sadness of it. That's just one aspect of the offensive weapons in the museum, which is - "
Terry: "On which you can base selection and which you can talk to people... what else have you got? (Smiling broadly at Peter Cushing) It's great, isn't it? Do you like this, Peter? I'm fascinated by it."

When introducing Bill Waddell and the concept of Scotland Yard's Black Museum, Terry says "Edgar Lustgarten, where are you now?" The remark gets little response from the audience, with Terry noting "You don't remember him... I'm giving me age away."
