it's all a conspiracy Charlie!
callanvass20 January 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Jake catches Charlie fooling around with a woman named Wendy in the shower. Things are going very smoothly until Wendy wants to stick around and hang out with Jake. She takes Jake roller-blading and to the movies. It gets worse when Wendy starts hanging with Charlie's mother. They all love her but Charlie thinks it is all a diabolical plan for Wendy to keep seeing Charlie. Charlie manages to get rid of Wendy but Jake resents him for it. Meanwhile, Rose engages in a game of Scrabble with Rose. I admit that i'm not like Charlie. I've never been much of a one night stand guy, but I can kinda empathize with Charlie a little bit. I think if you're a guy, you've had a woman that just doesn't get the hint. There are lots of great gags in this one. One involves Jake singing one of Charlie's jingles while he's in the shower with Wendy. That one would be my favorite. There is a couple of great twists as well, which fits perfectly in my opinion. One involves Rose, the other Wendy. It is a fantastic episode

The questioning of Charlie
salgonjulien4211 April 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This ninth episode is altogether satisfactory. He(it) contains many funny scenes(stages) in particular those between Alan and Rose who play the Scrabble. On the other hand the character of Wendy is not specially interesting nor charismatic. But it is a good classic episode, a characteristic of the series. The dialogs are always so lively and funny. Of more Charlie questions at the end after an unexpected twist in the drama with Wendy. In any case the sitcom continues on a good way and find his(her, its) rhythm of cruise with good characters ready(in position). He(It) misses nevertheless in this episode a supplement of soul to make an episode of largely above the average reference.

A fun episode.

Warning: Spoilers
Unlike what he'd become in later series here in the early days the character of Charlie actually looks like he's capable of change. And he nearly does here, in an episode that focuses on what would happen if Jake became attached to one of his uncle's many lady friends.

It's a fun episode, in a first series that was still finding its groove. The writers still don't seem to truly know what to do with Rose or Evelyn, but even an average episode of this first series is miles better than anything that came much later.

I thought this episode while not being one of the best from this series still had lots of entertaining moments.
