- After a bad article is published about the fight at the car show (2/10 episode), "Titus High Performance" has customers canceling orders and the business is going under. Ken refuses to help out, Titus starts drinking, and Erin leaves.
- After his antics at a national car show are published in Street Rod magazine, Christopher finds his shop losing customers and revenue. The magazine had called them the inept court jesters of the hot rod universe. Street Rod is a national magazine and has a high readership. Tommy knows that this cannot be good for business. Titus believed that any publicity is good publicity. Titus keeps telling his customers (who are canceling orders) that he is not bothered as the shop has too much work. The reality is that the shop is out of work. Titus will have to borrow money from Erin to meet rent. Tommy suggests that Titus fires Dave. Titus refuses to fire anyone.
That's when the mafia goons of his customer come and ask for their boss's car back, along with the deposit for the work. Their boss had called earlier and canceled the job with Titus. Titus writes them a check for $6K, which won't clear as there are no funds. Titus has 5 business days to figure something out as it is clear that the goons are going to come back to the shop when the check does not clear
Now Erin walks in and tells Titus that she quit her job with her friend Jenny (Gigi De Leon). She wants Titus to fund her MBA school. Titus had been asking Erin to quit her job for over 2 years now and he had offered to pay for her MBA as the work in the shop was rolling in. Erin dropped a pot of hot coffee on her boss's lap and lit a small desk fire. Titus tells Erin that their work got canceled due to the Street Rod magazine article, they wrote a bad check for $6K and the shop's closing down. They are broke. Erin runs back to save her job.
Titus is afraid of asking help from Ken, as Ken always humiliates Titus by making him his personal slave in exchange for helping him out. Ken even makes Titus hold the newspaper for him, while Ken goes to the toilet. Things get worse when Ken refuses to help his son. Tommy calls it quits and packs his stuff from the shop, to find another job. Christopher starts hitting the bottle (he was sober for 13 years). Erin comes by to tell Titus that she was not able to get her job back. Erin says that she can't be with a drunk since her whole family is full of drunks and addicts. To save Erin, Titus drinks and pushes her away.
Ken still won't give Titus any money, as he wants him to learn to stand up for himself. Ken tells a story that when Titus was a kid and Juanita his wife, he was in a company and would have made partner by now. But he had an ulcer and doctors gave him 6 months to live. He divorced Juanita, got custody of Titus, and never passed blood again. The company now grosses $3 billion a year in gross revenues. Things will work themselves out, but Titus needs to keep at it.
