While a priest will not generally reveal a confession, this would have no bearing on the facts as took place prior to the confession, to include the ID of the suspect. The female priest would be able to testify as to what happened to her, to include seeing the attacker's face.
In interrogation, Hooker tells the suspect the other suspect is dead. As a former detective, he should have known saying that gave away a great piece of leverage for a confession. He later properly uses this tactic by telling the suspect's lawyer the priest was going to testify as to the confession.
