The old Saturday Night Special story.
heateraka10 January 2022
This is the SOSF's take on the old Saturday Night Special story where they trace an el cheapo pistol as it changes hands over the course of a few days. It's purchased by a man with good intentions, stolen, ditched, picked up by some kids and more. Most of the cop shows have done one of these episodes. Streets does it well...better than Quincy and some of the other 70's shows. It's an interesting and fairly realistic story told without being too preachy. A good cast of characters including the SFPD lab man played by Vince Howard, Jonathan Goldsmith as a sleazy two bit hustler and Lee Montgomery as the typical punk kid he usually played.

Overall this is a good episode but not a favorite of mine.

Social message mixed with a story!

Warning: Spoilers
The Twenty-Five Caliber Plague has a social message mixed with a story! A individual buys a gun for his wife wife's protection which gets stolen by the brother in law who ditches the gun and the gun becomes the story. Interesting story as the gun becomes the story. What I like is how Keller and Stone break down the case of the slimy brother in law. The rest of the stories become a bit formulated. There is a message about responsible ownership but episodes ending is a bit stale. Just watch The Twenty-Five Caliber Plague once! 6 stars!
