J R does radio!
mm-3924 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
J R does radio! Larry Hagman is slick and ruthless as J R; this time as a D J which swoons the 1970's women of the bay area. Hagman is great to watch, as Keller and Stone try to figure out is Hagman ruthless enough to kill for his career? There is a couple of murders. A love affair, and family dynamic. The real charm is watching Keller and Stone trying to figure while matching wits with Hagman. Of course there is a plot twist for the ending and a humorous payback. The ending has bit laugh about the entertainment industry. Well Dead Air is worth watching just for watching the late Larry Hagman.

A woman is murdered and her recent lover was radio talk show host Terry Vine.

A very good Season 4 episode. Larry Hagman is excellent as the smarmy Vine, this was in between his most famous roles in I Dream Of Jeannie and Dallas. This is an intriguing mystery episode. Stone and Keller suspect Vine was the killer of the first girl and another (Jenny O'Hara, later on My Sister Sam) is murdered when she tries to blackmail him. Other guest stars are Ina Balin (she was in the Jerry Lewis film The Patsy) as Vine's loyal secretary and George Di Cenzo (he would play real life Manson prosecutor Vince Bugliosi in Helter Skelter the next year) as a bitter engineer. There is a very satisfying ending.
