Crazy Fun
sambase-3877319 November 2019
This episode is not even remotely believable, but it is good crazy fun. It's kind of absurd actually so you just have to go with the premise. One detective trying to hide from another detective and something goes terribly wrong. One detective knows that something is wrong and the other doesn't. And the whole time they're trying to outsmart each other. If you've never seen Starsky & Hutch before do not watch this episode. You will be totally confused. If you've seen at least a handful of episodes then you can enjoy this. And it is fun.

This weird episode not from starsky and hutch, season 4 features many different episodes and most of them are obscure as well as using techniques that made it stand out from previous seasons, however it is a great suspenseful episode.

No fun

Warning: Spoilers
Well, this story could have been very nice. I would have liked to see this plot line done two years ago when they were having fun. It would have seemed playful then to have them play a little hide and seek with each other. Now it just seemed like a matter of one-up- man-ship. They never had to prove which one was better before. They were a team. The team is gone.

When Starsky doesn't recognize Hutch in a disguise, Hutch calls and goads him! It's not playful in any way.. It's more like, there, that's one for me, jerk. Seriously, the change in relationship between them is seismic. When Starsky really needs to find Hutch to warn him about being poisoned and end the game, Hutch won't even listen. When Hutch runs into a way to catch the villain during the game, HE DOESN'T EVEN CALL STARSKY FOR BACK-UP. SERIOUSLY, this is so incredibly WRONG! He even knows he's not well for some reason and he STILL tries to do it all alone. Hutch nearly dies because of what? His pride? His wish to be a one man show? Who was writing this? Why didn't PMG and DS speak up in defense of their characters and say no, it wouldn't go this way?

I've heard things about what was happening behind the scene for both DS and PMG at this point in the show. But none of that explains the disastrous change in their relationship on screen. If I had not read that they are still friends these many years later and have been since the show ended, I would be sure that they hated each other. Maybe PMG and DS had just come to hate Starsky and Hutch? It's just so very sad.
