Originally banned by the BBC, the episode "The Fix" was first shown on British television on 31 May 1999 on Channel 4 as part of a Starsky and Hutch theme night.
The episode (airing October 8, 1975) is very similar to the Gene Hackman film, The French Connection II, (released May 21st, 1975) in which Hackman's character of Popeye Doyle is captured and injected with heroin repeatedly.
David Soul and Geoffrey Lewis later appeared together again in Salem's Lot (1979).
