The original title of "Murder on Voodoo Island" was changed to the "Starsky & Hutch on Playboy Island" for a few decades. As of 2020, the original title has been restored on television broadcasts (and perhaps the DVD as well).
This is erroneously listed as 1 episode when it is actually 2 episodes "part 1 & 2" as it has always been broadcast. It needs to be split in 2 as the whole entire list is therefore wrong (episode 2 being #3) etc. Someone fix this.
At a cocktail reception for the cast and crew David Soul told Joan Collins, watching the young women in the cast being ogled by the crew as they paraded before them, "After all the effort and care Paul and I have put in trying to make this show a success, now we're doing a tits-and-ass piece."
Features a reprise of the pilot's running joke of "I'm Hutch, he's Starsky" (or vice-versa) except here it's "No, I'm Night, he's Day (for S&H's undercover last name monikers.)
Don Pedro Colley is here revisiting---with equal talent and conviction---his role in the previous The Ferret (1971), where he played a cult leader in a (detrimental) mojo-advocating temple. Apparently, the Starsky & Hutch production occasionally borrowed storylines from that series.
