When Hutch and Vanessa are talking in the morning, shots go back and forth to Hutch looking down as he speaks to her, to shots of the couple talking face to face.
After the bad guys visit Vanessa at Hutch's Venice Place, the establishing shot on his building shows that, to its left, there is a little French Bistro by the name of "Crêpes". Minor detail, but there is an error in the dangling shield-shaped sign: it bears the French flag, but its colors are wrong: the French flag colors are blue, white and red, in that order. The sign has them reversed to red, white and blue. (The word "Bistro" on the sign shows that the film hasn't been reversed.)
In the pilot show, Hutch says his ex-wife's name was Nancy. In this show, she is Vanessa.
The scene takes place in Huggy's bar. Hutch introduces his ex-wife, Van to Huggy; at which time Huggy says Van can have anything she wants "On the house". Van says she'll have her usual looking for Hutch to fill in the blank. Hutch thinks a moment and says: "Brandy Alexander". She then tells Huggy what his favorite drink is and orders him a "Vodka on the Rocks with a twist and a splash of tonic." At 9:39 Huggy's brings the drink order to their table: A Brandy Alexander and a beer." Maybe Huggy's know Hutch better than the Ex does.
