- Harry Pearce: Now, you're all aware of the situation with Sam. I've decided to give her a second chance, but I want to make one thing clear now. The next person who breaks the rules, the next person who messes up, the next paperclip that goes astray from this office and you are out! Is that clear?
- Tom Quinn: Oh, physician, heal thyself.
- Tom Quinn: I'm in the middle of an operation right now, and uh, maybe afterwards, you know, we can take stock.
- Christine Dale: Take stock? God, you are a nation of shopkeepers after all.
- Tom Quinn: Something happened that shouldn't have.
- Ruth Evershed: The Chala Cartel are going to swap a shipment of drugs for surface-to-air missiles.
- Danny Hunter: That's crazy, why do drug traffickers...
- Ruth Evershed: There is a precedent. When the Colombians cracked down on the drug cartels in the 1990s, it really wasn't advisable to take an internal flight.
- Danny Hunter: They'd do that here?
- Zoe Reynolds: Well, they incinerated 30 teenagers in Madrid because of two deportations, remember.
- Tom Quinn: That's how they operate. Leave us alone or we'll really hurt you.
- Ruth Evershed: So why don't we leave them alone, why prod the snake?
- Tom Quinn: That's a good idea, Ruth. Yeah, that's great, let's leave everyone alone, give every snake what it wants, then the world can be one big happy nest of vipers and you can go back to GCHQ.
- Ruth Evershed: Where's, where's Tom?
- Harry Pearce: You've been bursting into my office rather a lot lately, Ruth. Tom's with the Colombian girl in the safe house.
- Ruth Evershed: [nodding] I see.
- Harry Pearce: Is it something I can help with?
- Ruth Evershed: We've found out who's been leaking to Tessa. Uh, her palmtop, it's a highly sophisticated device, and Zoe saw...
- Harry Pearce: Zoe?
- Ruth Evershed: No, no, it wasn't Zoe. She saw the person at Danny's station, about to download material. And, and then Sam said it was a birthday present.
- Harry Pearce: Ruth, take a deep breath, and in one word, tell me the name of the mole.
- Ruth Evershed: Sam.
- [first lines]
- Customs agent: [voice-over] ETA Dover in half an hour. All units continue to stand by. Status report please, whisky seven, over.
- Female customs officer: In position, Alpha One.
- [hangs up]
- Female customs officer: It's the final at my son's football tournament tonight.
- Tom Quinn: Is he any good?
- Female customs officer: Joe?
- [laughing]
- Female customs officer: He's absolute crap! But he loves it, so I tell him he's the next Thierry Henry. You've got kids, haven't you?
- Tom Quinn: Yeah, I've got two. Zoe and Danny. Um, Zoe's great. She's great. She's too clever for her own good sometimes. Danny's at a... difficult age. He's always getting into trouble.
- Tom Quinn: So, Katy.
- Zoe Reynolds: Jack.
- Tom Quinn: You work in publishing. Impulsive, generous spirited, a little over-the-top sometimes. I have to rein you in.
- Zoe Reynolds: You're a risk analyst. Withdrawn, slightly aloof, cold even. People never know what you're thinking. I thought we were supposed to be assuming new personalities here.
- Ruth Evershed: This is the infamous Chala. Provincial capital of a lawless region. Mountains, jungle, left-wing guerrillas, right-wing paramilitaries, drug lords, American special forces.
- Harry Pearce: Okay, I'll cancel the holiday. What's the link?
- Camilo Henriquez: You're letting them get the weapons? Why?
- Danny Hunter: Yours is not to reason why, Camilo.
- [pulling a small box out of his coat pocket]
- Danny Hunter: Tracking device.
- Camilo Henriquez: Oh, no.
- Danny Hunter: Oh, yes. You simply attach this. It couldn't be easier.
- Camilo Henriquez: No way.
- Danny Hunter: [Pulling a large envelope out of another coat pocket] These come with new identities in the United States and an early parole hearing for your mother.
- [Camilo reaches for the envelope. Danny pulls it away]
- Danny Hunter: Ah.
- [Camilo takes the tracking device]
- Danny Hunter: What options have you got?
- Camilo Henriquez: I was thinking of forming a panpipe band.
