- Kara Delaney: After we got out of the pool, we took a shortcut through the gym to get back to my car. And then we saw him... just hanging there.
- Det. Sgt. Tom Ryan: [hears deceased had sex before he died] Oh, a one-off performance is no reason for a suicide.
- [pathologist grins]
- Det. Sgt. Tom Ryan: Of course, I wouldn't know from personal experience.
- Det. Sgt. Cassandra 'Cassy' St. John: [whispers] St. Barts, '94.
- Det. Sgt. Tom Ryan: Oh, come on...! That was sunburn.
- Kara Delaney: Do people really touch dead bodies when they find them?
- Det. Sgt. Tom Ryan: Yeah, sometimes.
- Kara Delaney: Why?
- Det. Sgt. Tom Ryan: Well, I think it's their instinct to try to save the person before they call for help.
- Kara Delaney: Right.
- [inquiry seems to be over]
- Kara Delaney: That's it?
- Det. Sgt. Tom Ryan: Yeah.
- Kara Delaney: Listen... uhm...
- [hands over phone number]
- Kara Delaney: In case you wanna talk to me any more for any reason, feel free to call my cellphone. Any time... Whatever you want. Just name it.
- Kara Delaney: [schoolgirls imitating parents] "Young lady, we're paying an outrageous amount of money so that you can have the privilege of..."
- Campbell: "... wearing a *very* ugly uniform."
- Kara Delaney: We tried everything. Drink, drugs, sex with boys, sex with girls... We started getting bored.
- Sam: Everybody wonders what it would be like to have sex with a teacher. We actually did it.
- Kara Delaney: Our plan was to all seduce Richards one by one.
- Campbell: We knew he was vulnerable.
- Kara Delaney: Then one day I got to thinking what it would be like to kill somebody.
- Sam: Everybody wonders. But we did it.
- Campbell: Killing two birds with one stone, you might say.
- [chuckles]
- Kara Delaney: [chuckles] I did him first. He was easy.
- Campbell: Then I had him.
- Sam: When I asked him to meet me in the gym that night he must have felt like a little kid at Christmas.
- Kara Delaney: Then, when he was having sex with Sam, Campbell and I snuck around from behind and slipped the noose over his neck.
- Campbell: By the time he figured out what was going on...
- [shakes her head]
- Campbell: he was already strung up.
- Sam: We talked to him the whole time he was dying. He took more than twenty minutes. We each told him how good...
- Kara Delaney: ...or bad...
- Sam: ...he was in bed.
- Campbell: Then he died just like that. You know, no more struggle, no more breathing. Just...
- [shakes her head]
- Campbell: stiff.
- Kara Delaney: After making it look like a suicide, we went swimming in the pool to cool off...
- Sam: ...and clean up.
- [Kara giggles]
- Campbell: And then we pretended to find him.
