- After three weeks, Carrie gets a written invitation from Aleksandr; they start flirting and end up in bed. Charlotte looks for a new perfume and a volunteer career while waiting for another pregnancy. Miranda would be happy back with Steve, but keeps bumping into unforgiving yesterday's perfect man Robert. Samantha didn't feel like accompanying Smith to a Teen Girl party- till she reads it's hosted by her ex Richard Wright; she tells Smith they should each play with their own friends, but is greatly relieved to find him waiting for her anyway.—KGF Vissers
- Carrie begins to feel attached to Aleksandr but cannot ignore his womanizing past. Aleksandr wants to spend time with Carrie and takes her out for long, romantic walks. Carrie takes on Aleksandr as a lover. She finds him worldly and wise and very sexy.
Carrie spends the night with Aleksandr at his apartment. Aleksandr is rich, and his apartment is luxurious. He has bought the entire floor of the building. One half is converted into his studio and the other half is his house. But the next morning his staff barely even acknowledges her. Carrie thinks it that way because he perhaps brings many women over.
Carrie discusses with Samantha and agrees that the entire bit with the apartment was choreographed by Aleksandr. Carrie finds an online blog listing all of his previous affairs. Aleksandr has dated every noted woman in New York since 1977. Carrie is really uncomfortable with him going forward. But Aleksandr wins her over by saying this is not a quick flick for him.
Together again, Steve moves into Miranda's apartment and finds it hard to avoid her angry ex-boyfriend, Robert. They keep running into him in building elevators and staircases. Miranda tries to apologize to Robert and says that she never meant to hurt him. Robert feels that Miranda used him as a filler before she got back together with Steve. Miranda decides to give the elevator to Robert and use the stairs herself to avoid running into Robert going forward.
When Steve moves in his stuff, he finds his TV is vandalized in the lobby and they both think Robert did it. Miranda says that Robert is still passionately in love with her and was angry when Miranda dumped him for Steve. Steve goes to confront Robert and finds him in the middle of a threesome. He has already moved on from Miranda. Steve does not have the nerve to burst Miranda's bubble and only says that Robert will not be bothering them ever again.
Charlotte tries to forget her miscarriage by volunteering for the blind. The doctors have asked her to wait for 2 months before trying to get pregnant again. Charlotte wants to go back to work, but if she does get pregnant again, she feels it will not be fair to the new employers. Charlotte is advised to wear a blindfold in public to experience the helplessness but cannot survive even a single afternoon.
Samantha accompanies Smith to an industry party hosted by Richard Wright (James Remar). Samantha has been feeling lately that Smith is hot, but he is too young for her. Samantha knew that the party is being hosted at Richard's hotel. Richard runs into Samantha at the hotel entrance and treats her like a queen. He admits that she was the best thing that happened to him, and he was a fool to let her go. Samantha feels her age at the party (the theme was "top 30 under 30") and ends up having sex with Richard after blowing off Smith, who is still loyal towards her. Samantha asks Smith about where their relationship is going, before leaving him for Richard. But Samantha feels terrible for betraying Smith and is thankful when he takes her back. For the very first time, Samantha sees Smith as a mature person.
