Newman (Wayne Knight) can be seen wearing a wedding ring during the first scene in his apartment. It's gone after that & not seen again. Knight was married to Paula Sutor at the time and forgot to take his ring off during filming.
Both David Beckham and Brent Seabrook, fans of this episode who also wear the number seven on jerseys in their respective sports, chose "Seven" as the middle names of their children, Harper and Carter.
The scene where Newman (Wayne Knight) decides who gets to keep the bike is based on the biblical story, "The Judgement of Solomon" (1 Kings 3:16-28), in which King Solomon is asked to decide, between two women, who should keep a child, one being the true mother. After some deliberation, he calls for a sword and declares that there is only one fair solution: the child must be split in two, each woman receiving half. The boy's true mother then cries out, "Please, My Lord, give her the live child! Do not kill him!" King Solomon instantly gives the baby to her, realizing that only the true mother would instinctively protect her own child.
People have been name Seven for ages as in Septimius Severus, the Roman Emperor. Even Six as in Sixtus (a pope). Also Eight, as in Octavius..
George (Jason Alexander) thinks the name "Seven" is so unique. He links it to Mickey Mantle's number with the Yankees. Unfortunately for the writers and producers, the name "Seven" had already been used on a TV comedy, around four years earlier on Married... with Children (1987) (seventh season 1992-93) and the character Seven Bundy (played by Shane Sweet). So both George's contention about its uniqueness and the originality of the writers is in question.
