SYMPATHY FOR THE DEEP is one of those episodes that sees all of the crew infected by a virus that causes them to act out of character, becoming irrational, aggressive, and violent. This allows the actors to try out a different style of acting to which they're accustomed. The story is tied up a little too neatly but it's a nice change of pace for the show.
