Executive producer Jean Doumanian was nearly fired just before the show. She argued with NBC executives about a sketch featuring Gail Matthius as nun claiming to have had sex with Father Guido Sarducci. NBC boss Fred Silverman threatened to fire her and pull the episode completely. Doumanian finally relented, but the sketch was allowed to air two episodes later.
The same set is used for two different sketches: Video Date and Planned Parenthood.
Though not credited Matthew Laurance, Eddie Murphy, and Patrick Weathers make official appearances in the sketches.
Mitchell Kriegman makes his only live appearance in a sketch called Blame the Kids, which he plays the son.
