Ok episode

This episode is very much topical, well at the time, and has some good pace and energetic chase scenes, and Simon Templar is his usual charming self, though he comes across a bit smug here, thinking that the female agent should go weak over knees for him. The characterisations are ok, but overall I found this serviceable- nothing more. The ending came as a surprise- Templar showing a ruthless side.

Warning: Spoilers
The Saint dabbles in middle eastern politics in 1970s style. It means most of the arab characters are played by white guys and non Muslims.

Abdul Hakim (Garrick Hagon) is a member of the Black September terrorist group who is in hiding in London.

He is being chased by his own people who want to kill him as well as the Israeli secret service who want information for him.

The Saint who is about to go on holiday has been roped in to help Captain Leila Sabin (Prunella Gee) a stiff Israeli secret service operative whose family were murdered by terrorists.

By using a real life Palestinian terrorist group. There was bound to be no nuance regarding the Palestinian situation.

Then you have absurd scenes where Captain Sabin thought that the Post Office Tower in a photograph was a chimney pot.

Even more ludicrous were the prolonged scenes of her rear, nice as it was.

The episode ends with a ruthless cynical play from The Saint. Hakim thinks he is leaving the country and flying off to safety. His former comrades are still on to him.
