Sydney is expected to find a wine bottle from 1792 – not because of the rare vintage, but rather for the jewels inside. They belonged to the crown of Marie Antoinette once. As quickly as they find the bottle, it falls into the hands of a gangster boss. Sydney and Nigel break into his house, but he is already on his way to sell the rare wine at an auction to the highest bidder...
This episode is the first of several which are set in France ('Relic Hunter' was co-produced by Gaumont, a French company), yet they were shot in Canada like the rest. All ingredients which we like in 'Relic Hunter' are here, a good fun episode. What we do not get to see is Claudia's new tattoo, though, I suppose the PG rating is to blame.
