I liked this episode of "Quincy", as it was quite original and had nothing preachy about it. The only negative is that the conclusion is a bit weak--and Quincy and the police wrap up the crime when there ARE other possibilities as to who was guilty.
The show begins with two partners in a small air cargo company. Charlie (Joseph Campanella) wants to get married and sell the outfit. Max (Tom Troupe) doesn't want to sell as the company is his life. The two are connected with Quincy, as the three all served together in the war (which one was never specified).
One day, the pair are up in a plane when the engine cuts out and their aircraft crashes in the hills. They survive the crash, but Max is cut up and in need of blood. Charlie is the same blood type and agrees to give a transfusion to his old friend. Soon Max is doing great and is expected to make a full recovery. But, suddenly, Max dies! Why? And what does it have to do with Charlie's blood?
I loved that this one was so different for the show. Unraveling this interesting mystery was a problem, however, as when the show ended I could think of at least two obvious suspects--but somehow Quincy and the police know who is the guilty party. It's a shame, as otherwise, this is among the best episodes of season five. Still, it's well worth seeing and kept my interest.
