The tenth episode proves a big letdown from previous entries. Bill wants to perform an embarrassing ventriloquist act with Bradley posing as his dummy (Bradley: "Please change the act...how about flaming batons, an accordion...I think you'd be better off playing two trombones with a duck in your pants!" Bill: "I can't, Ann Richards did that last year!" note - Ann Richards was the incumbent Democrat Governor of Texas defeated by Republican challenger George W. Bush in 1994). Veteran character actor Phil Leeds pops in as a photographer readying the Powers family portrait, assisted by an eager Charlotte, whose amateur photo of a corn dog "won third prize at the Roanoke County Fair." The photographer asks her for nothing but "a tuna on rye" (she sticks her tongue out at him). Margaret decides to sabotage her husband's act by imploring Bradley to shout himself hoarse, which only succeeds until Theodore delights in defying both his mother-in-law and his wife by volunteering himself to be the dummy (Margaret: "Caitlyn, get your husband off my husband!" Caitlyn: "Theodore, get off Daddy now!" Theodore: "NO!"). Bill actually lays down the law with his overbearing wife, who finally changes her tune when the act goes down well with the Clintons, who invite the Powers family to a future dinner at the White House. Amusing to be sure, but apparently the series' low point, as viewers tuned out after this aired.
