David Doyle plays a killer?!
planktonrules5 September 2019
"Vice: 24 Hours" is a bit unusual in that instead of focusing on a cop or two cops, it's about several who all work for the vice unit. The main plot involves an evil pimp named Madden. After getting arrested, he decides to harass the family of the cop who arrested him--and scaring the wits out of the man's wife. Because of this, he and his partner are intent on putting the guy away for good...but how? Additional cases involve a report of a priest who is a bookie as well as someone trying to order a hit on his wife. The weird part is that the man is played by David Doyle...who is one of the last folks you'd ever think would play a killer!

Overall, a very entertaining episode and one that as a few funny moments as well. Well worth seeing...as are nearly all the episodes of this intelligently written series.

Very good, as usual.

There is a little change here, not street patrol men in uniform, but Vice Squad cops who have to face three different cases. Anyway, the summary has already been told above, so I give you no surprise. Yes, this episode is a real must see, at any cost, so sharp, tense and realistic. One more effective description of the daily burden of cops who love their job, who are so dedicated to it. But it's not a total noir or desperate tale, as such we have seen in this show, our cops look like playboys or street punks here. But it's not a comedy either. I found something of BARETTA series here, and who would not? Directed by Lee Katzin, the prolific TV episodes and film maker.
