- Brett and Danny accidentally come across the crash site of an aircraft, and with it, a low-cost, high-grade synthetic fuel formula, which attracts a parade of oil tycoons and "considerate" daughters, all claiming the formula.
- On holiday in Scotland the Persuaders find a crashed plane containing dead scientist Brian Wilks and a formula he has written down. Three girls turn up claiming to be the dead man's daughter and after the formula, a way to make cheap, synthetic fuel, but the Persuaders correctly Carla as the true claimant. Further complications arise when both Andreas Theopolos, the dead man's business partner, and tycoon Sir Hugo Chalmers both lay claim to the formula - which one of them, having already murdered Wilks, will kill to obtain.—don @ minifie-1
- The boys are lost in the woods somewhere in Scotland, where they accidentally find an old plane wreck, and in the dead pilot's hands, an envelope containing the innovative formula of a low-cost, high-grade synthetic fuel as well as a note with the clear direction to burn inventor Brian Wilk's notations. Under Judge Fulton's directions, Brett and Danny will try to keep out of sight this monumental discovery, but before long, all interested parties, including significant oil tycoons and a parade of women all asserting to be the deceased's only daughter, will attempt to claim the formula. With the scientist's accident being indeed a murder, the Persuaders are determined to see justice done, and in the process, find out if the world is really ready for the formula.—Nick Riganas
