unrequited love and swastika hearts

Mark nags Jeremy to get a job in the office that he works at so that Jeremy can help with the rent, however Jeremy is more content with his aspiring music career and silly pyramid schemes to take an actual job interview seriously. Meanwhile Mark is fawning over co-worker, Sophie. This second episode wasn't quite as good as the pilot in my eyes. But only by a hair, as it's still quite very funny stuff. I'm starting to see why the series seems so beloved by those across the pond. Even the minor gripe that the constant voice-overs might take a bit getting used to is a non-issue by even just the second show in.

My Grade: B+

A very good follow up.

Warning: Spoilers
Mark is definitely fed up with Jez's lazy attitude and laying about (work shy freeloader,) he's landed Mark an interview at his place of work for the job of a Clerical Officer, Jez isn't keen. Mark is keen on asking Sophie out, but lacks the confidence, the two flirt with artistic post-it notes but that's about it. He gets it wrong going a little over the top with 'Swastika love,' Toni gets Jez into pyramid selling.

It's another funny episode, a great follow up to the initial episode, the humour is wonderfully dry, once again really well acted by Mitchell and Webb.

I loved Mark's cringe worthy voicemail to Sophie, talk about socially awkward. As were Mark's thoughts about power tripping over Jez.
