- [Charlie is alone in the restaurant and decides to call Kirsten]
- Kirsten Bennett: [phone rings and Kirsten, saddened, is covered in sheets in her apartment, while her voice plays in the machine] Hi, I can't come to the phone right now, but I wanna talk to you. Please leave a message after the beep.
- Charlie Salinger: [on the phone] Hi. Uh... God. Um, I wasn't gonna... I kind of just wanted to hear your voice on the machine, and, uh... I forgot to hang up. Um... I hope you're okay. I'm, uh... I'm kind of a mess, if that makes you feel any better. I'm sorry. This is, uh... I shouldn't have...
- [phone beeps off]
- [last lines]
- [Bailey is leading Sarah, who has her eyes closed, through the woods in the night]
- Bailey Salinger: Okay. Open your eyes. Happy belated birthday.
- Sarah Reeves: Wow. Well, it's beautiful, but I don't get it.
- Bailey Salinger: Look straight up.
- [she looks up at the sky]
- Bailey Salinger: No, no, wait. Wait a second. Here, this way. It's right between... Gemini and Orion.
- Sarah Reeves: What am I looking for?
- Bailey Salinger: Your star.
- Sarah Reeves: My what?
- Bailey Salinger: It's my birthday gift to you. I sent in this form and everything. And I mean, it's not the most expensive birthday gift in the world, but, anyway, there's this star up there named Sarah. And that's not gonna change, and that's not gonna go away 'cause I have a certificate. So... no matter what happens, it's gonna be there for, like, millions and millions of years. Right up there. You can't see it, but it's there. I promise.
- Sarah Reeves: Wow. Wow.
- Bailey Salinger: Go ahead. You never got to make your wish.
- Sarah Reeves: Okay.
- [chuckles]
