- Four college students find themselves in a trap after picking up a hitchhiker and stopping at a rest stop. / When a deceased family man comes back to life at his funeral, he becomes obsessed with death and puts his daughter in danger.
- Young Sara, her brother Chuck, her best friend Vicki and Vicki's boyfriend Tim are driving through a mountainous forest area. Sara decides to pick up slightly disheveled but hunky hitchhiker Andy, despite everyone else's protests. Vicki has to go to the bathroom, so they pull up at a nearby rest stop in the middle of nowhere. The only other people there are a group of grungy young locals, who offer various unusual souvenirs to travelers. Chick and Vicki dislike them as much as they do Andy and Andy shows slight contempt for rich and snobbish Chuck and Vicki as well. When the gang enters the public restroom, everything seems normal. When they come out, their car is missing as well as the grungy vendors. Is this just a case of simple highway robbery or something far more sinister?
- Michael Doyle is a recently deceased family man, who died from massive heart attack. His wife Natalie and especially daughter Kaitlin are deeply saddened by his passing. During his funeral ceremony the most bizarre thing happens - Michael miraculously comes back to life and opens his casket. He is immediately taken to hospital, where doctor confirms that he is indeed alive and well and that the coroner had probably made an oversight when he declared him dead. His wife and daughter are ecstatic to hear this, but Michael is quite confused. When they return home, both Natalie and Kaitlin believe that their lives will now go back to normal, but Michael starts showing signs of severe depression, nihilism and even suicidal tendencies. He claims that when he died, he went to some sort of paradise, where he felt indescribable peace and tranquility. He is still high on that feeling and simply can not adopt to the real world anymore, since when compared to this paradise, the real world looks like a decaying, dying and miserable place. His wife asks their priest for advise, but even he is skeptical about Michael's story. Kaitlin tries to help her father in any way she can, so she goes along with his tale. He eventually comes to an ominous conclusion that there was a reason why he got back to life - to take his loving daughter with him to this paradise, and he doesn't intend to wait.
- At the funeral of family man Michael Doyle, he pops out of his own coffin to the shock of his wife and daughter. The doctor is unable to explain how he came back but he's perfect healthy - but not particularly happy to be back. Doyle is now obsessed with death, seeing it in everyone and everything and tasting nothing but dirt.
He soon realizes he was in a glorious brightly-lit Heaven and is now trapped in "life". He then realizes that his reason for returning was to murder someone close to him and to return to heaven together. Can his wife stop this horror from hppening before it is too late? What is the real reason that Michael returned from the dead?
