- TriviaTo protect the secret of the ending, a fake script was leaked to the press. In it, after Bob gets hit by a golf ball, he dies, goes to Heaven and meets God played by George Burns.
- GoofsRight before Larry, Darryl and Darryl show up, four other former townsfolk show up and are talking to Dick. Right before the townsfolk are done talking to Dick, a boom mic can be seen dipping into the scene for a few minutes, before pulling back up and out of sight.

First Darryl, Second Darryl: [to their yakking wives] QUIET!
- Crazy creditsSPOILER: The MTM kitten's meow was replaced by the two Darryls shouting "QUIET!"
- Alternate versionsSPOILER - When originally aired the last scene in Robert Hartley's bedroom was followed by the music cue that would be played at the end of episodes of "The Bob Newhart Show". Recent versions of this episode, such as those airing on TVLand/Nick at Nite, replace this with the standard "Newhart" commercial music cue.

Glad to Have Been There
Nearly everyone knows the ending so I won't comment on that. The final season was really a bust, but this one wrapped all eight up pretty well. The Japanese (who at this time had money to burn) decide to tear down the town and build a huge golf course and entertainment center. Dick and Joanna won't sell and end up stuck with the Inn. This is a chance for all the principles to return one last time, five years later. That part wasn't as funny as I originally thought. This is the first time I've watched it since it was on back in 1990. There is a sense of sadness all around, but I feel I received a gift by this show having been on and enjoying it for all those weeks. Bob Newhart is a comic genius.
