On the day that Mrs Penton visits the bank, Armed robbers hold it up, and spray her with ammonia, the only witness to see the men without their clown masks on.
Definitely ranks as one of the show's best episodes, quite possibly the best of the lot. Wonderfully intriguing storyline, an array of talent, and a really different flavour, we get the court room scenes here, the first time the show has added them in.
What an incredible cast, a film from the same time would have happily had George Innes, Michael Elphick and the wonderful Bob Hoskins in it, the latter seemed to be cast very much against type here, but he was fantastic.
Only one negative, and it's a minor one, the sets have always looked so good throughout, I've never commented on anything looking cheap or fake, but that courtroom looked so bad, maybe the budget was a little tight for this one.
Loved it, 9/10.
