- TriviaThis is the first time that Shaggy drives the Mystery Machine.
- GoofsAs the gang and the Globetrotters start to drive off to Uncle Nat's house, the Globetrotters' dog appears briefly, but since he doesn't appear again, it's more than likely an animation mistake. Their bus driver, Granny, was also briefly seen.
- Quotes
Freddie 'Curly' Neal: [All hiding in laundry baskets from a ghost] Is the coast clear?
George 'Meadowlark' Lemon: I sure hope so. Let's take a look.
[They all stand. Curly and Meadowlark find themselves entangled in a couple bedsheets]
Norville 'Shaggy' Rogers: Phew! Hey g...
[sees two more "ghosts" rising from the laundry basket behind him]

"The Loch Ness Mess"
Fun entry in the series has Shaggy taking the gang to visit his great uncle and soon they're joined by The Harlem Globetrotters (their second appearance in the series). Once there they see a ghost holding a lantern but even worse is that there appears to be some sort of monster in the lake. The Lock Ness Mess manages to be one of the more entertaining entries in the series and a lot of this is because the main focus is really Shaggy and his weird relatives. There are some funny jokes about him getting to drive the Mystery van and boy what a bad driver he is! There's also some funny photos of his relatives with all of them having that same nose. The Harlem Globetrotters actually are more fun here than they were in their previous entry and this is especially true during an early cookout sequence. Scooby gets a lot of good scenes as well and the rest of the regulars are put to good use too. The ghosts are all effective and are without question some of the best of the series. Fans of the series should find enough entertainment in here to sit through it.
