There's a strike pending with the crew at the network, and when the anchors are forced to continue, they are dealt a huge blow with non-union workers coming in and making their broadcast look messy during an interview where their source is supposed to be blacked out. Disagreements between management and labor results in a showdown at Murphy's house where she's determined not to end the evening without some sort of resolution so they don't have to go through another nightmare broadcast like the one they did. It's funny to see the interim crew screwing everything up and a big black dot literally taking over the airways, leaving the face of the secret witness and heading towards Murphy like a giant insect. Her anger gets the best of her but in this case it works, and there's no way that she's going to allow a repeat of what went on before. While not as funny as other episodes that deal with serious issues, this does have some laugh out loud moments, mainly concerning Murphy's anger taking over and her various threats that only Candice Bergen could deliver. Still it's a well written episode even if the premise isn't as interesting as it could have been.
