Had Mindy never met Mork

Warning: Spoilers
"It's a Wonderful Mork" does indeed channel "It's a Wonderful Life" with Mork spoiling things for both Fred and Mindy during an intimate dinner, and her requesting that he mind his own business. An emergency call to Orson to return to Ork is denied, his superior submitting Mork to the 'plasmic essence reverse-ifier,' which will enable him to observe what life would have been like for Mindy and her family had they never met Mork. It's quite a shock to find Mindy married to a husband named Cliff (Sam Freed), even worse that he's a real deadbeat, fired yet again for his gambling debts. The fact that Mindy is forced to work two jobs to help cover those debts does not go unnoticed, with Grandma Cora forced to live with the couple. Fred has been off to see the world, living the life of a single man, the music store now the gambling den where Cliff loses every penny that Mindy earns. It's stunning that after this episode we would not see Fred again but twice the second season, and Cora not at all until one episode the third year.
