'Ali Nadim' suspects his wife 'Rehana' ( Gail Playfair ) might be having an affair, so he asks 'Mr.Brown ) to find out for sure. The shy English teacher plays at being 007 as he follows Mrs.Nadim round the city, and is appalled to see her visit the home of 'Ranjeet'.
This was the final 'Mind' made by London Weekend Television. Successful it still was, but Michael Grade had decided it was 'thirty minutes of racial slurs' and axed it. He became BBC-1 Controller a few years later, and was only too happy to bask in the ratings success of the recently-launched 'Eastenders' which did not exactly put Cockneys in a favourable light. In 1986, 'Mind' was briefly revived as an independent production set up by Albert Moses, who played Ranjeet. It suffered greatly from the absences of many cast members; tragically two - Dino Shafeek and Tommy Godfrey - had passed on. On top of that, Powell's scripts mimicked what had been done already. The fourth season looked like a repeat even on the first screening.
Funniest moment - of course, Ranjeet is not having an affair with Ali's wife. They are planning a surprise birthday party for him in the school canteen. In true 'Carry On' movie fashion, it descends into a pie throwing fight!
