It had a rough start but finished well.

In this episode, The crew of the 73 is in New Caledonia as the Navy wants an oil treaty signed with a friendly Shah. Since Admiral Roger is tied up with work, they send Captain Binghamton and McHale to do the honors. But the Shah refuses to sign any treaty unless an Admiral is present.

Meanwhile, Ensign Parker is up to his buffoonery near the boat when a woman is attacked. Parker, unknowingly makes the attacker run and has saved the life of the young woman. It just so happens that the young woman is the daughter of the Shah. Now the Shah will only sign the treaty if Ensign Parker is made an Admiral. The Navy wants the treaty so bad they are willing to make Parker an Admiral till right after the treaty is signed.

So now Parker, much to the dismay of Binghamton, is the highest ranking officer on Taratupa. Binghamton can not take it any longer and resorts to trickery to put a stop to Parker. But it backfires when Admiral Rogers makes an unplanned visit to the base.

Once this episode got started, the flow of the story came together for an interesting tale. There was a funny scene like when Carpenter finds out that Parker has been promoted and all of the sudden he is licking Parker's boots--that part made me laugh. The script was fresh and the actors seemed more into the story than usual. Good watch.

NOTE- The beautiful Brenda Benet was in the cast for this episode. Every time I see her I think of what could have been from that lovely set of eyes. She always seem to steal every scene that she was in. RIP Ms Benet.
