Little less antics would have made this show better.

For the next to the last show of season two, this episode proved to be well written. The shows were Binghamton and McHale team-up to defeat a problem, are shows that rare but also enjoyable. And this show proves that the two combination makes for good viewing.

The episode begins when Ensign Roger Whitfield, III makes an appearance on the base. Whitfield the III just happens to be the son of man who owns the San Diego Yacht Club where Binghamton managed before the war. Binghamton has to impress the spoiled, rotten brat to make sure that he gets the lucrative job back when he returns.

Ensign Whitfield takes advantage of the situation and bosses Binghamton around like a servant. The Ensign gets Binghamton to move from his quarters, have parties with nurses and even lets him drive and damage a PT boat. The entire situation comes to a head when Ensign Whitfield thinks about getting permanently transferred to Taratupa. Now Binghamton needs McHales help to stop this Little Lord Fauntleroy from ruining his career.

Again, this was a plot that was interesting from beginning to end. As has happened throughout the series, the writers had an great comedic show but then let the antics of the Parker character overshadow the script. During the crucial part of the plot, where Binghamton and McHale are developing a plan to stop the brat, Ensign Parker's character became obnoxious even to the point of ruining the scene. Tim Conway is funny but does not have to overshadow every scene.

Anyway, the show was entertaining enough to make for a fine watch.
