One of two "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." episodes credited as being written (or co-written) by noted science fiction author Harlan Ellison (the other was "The Sort-of-Do-It-Yourself Dreadful Affair"). Ellison may have penned rewrites on other episodes, but was uncredited on them.
Legal issues, regarding the use of the character name Judith Merle in the original broadcast, forced NBC to ban this episode from being rerun in the US till 1985. In subsequent broadcasts the character's name was changed to Jody Moore.
Although the opening establishing sequence of the episode clearly shows a sign for Los Angeles NBC affiliate KNBC (probably stock footage used because the series first ran on NBC), the opening events of the episode are shown (on a somewhat cheesy call letter sign on the front of an interview "news desk") to take place on a stage at the fictitious tv station "KFLO."
